Ideas

You definitely need to bring beach towels! 1 for everybody! Sunscreen!!!!! Hats and sunglasses!

We supply trash bags, dishwasher detergent and toilet paper to get you through the first day or two but we always tend to run out on a beach stay so you may want to bring back up.

There are some food storage containers but you may want to bring plastic wrap or Ziploc bags for leftovers.

We usually have a Shrimparoo every visit: We head out to Destin Seafood Market to stock up on Shrimp and then come home and cook the shrimp in the large pot with corn, red potatoes and a pouch of Old Bay seasoning.

There are Charcoal grills for cooking out! BYO charcoal and long nose lighter - can be hard to light your fire when the sea breeze comes up.

What about looking for crabs at night on the beach! Bring plenty of flashlights. Sometimes you find the crabs hanging out in the parking lot!

Sand castles on the Beach! Bring your building tools.

Remember we have great shells. Bring a bag for shell collecting! Some people bring fins, masks and snorkel for viewing sea life and shells. What about a little net for getting shells a little further out?

We have a beach service that provides chairs with umbrellas for approx. $10 - $20 a day. It's cheaper if you rent for more than 1 day at a time and they will usually negotiate a price. We have some chairs and umbrella in the closet but you may not feel like carting all that stuff down to the beach. A rolling cooler or a collapsible rolling cart is useful for hauling everything down to the beach.

Surfing, wake boarding, rafts. There are local shops that sell and rent these and we have some in the outside closet.

Football, Frisbee, baseball, Volleyball. There is a volleyball net set up down on the beach. There is plenty of room on the lawn for all kinds of ball tossing and a basketball court on the grounds for hoops.

Tennis gear - We have tennis courts with lights for evening tennis when daytime is too hot.

Books, magazines, Dvd's - We have some... There is a Blockbuster over the bridge with Publix for new releases.

What about a Wedding! We have the fiesta Room which is available to rent for a reception. There have been some beautiful weddings on the beach. Our 1 bedroom unit is great for hosting a crowd for a pre wedding party or rehearsal dinner! You say "WHAT?" Our 1 bedroom is right next to the lobby and the patio opens to the large grassy area! You could definitely host a party with overflows to the outside area or to the lobby in case of rain. Some folks put up canopies to expand their patios. The 1 bedroom is more accessible for the coming and going. You can do all of your prep work in the 1 bedroom and then retire for your honeymoon night to the 2 bedroom which overlooks the water.

Family Picture: What a treasure! The first thing people comment on in our house is our beach family portrait. What a beautiful place to take one. I have my children's baby pictures, their High School Senior Portraits and our family portraits (9 years apart) done in the dunes! Our wonderful photographer is Marsha from Gulf Reflections. Call ahead for an appt. you will be glad you did. Visit her website at www.gulfreflections.com
